A lighthouse steeped in history

Made of cut stone, this monument has withstood the ravages of time and war. It was partially destroyed during the Second World War, but rebuilt in 1947. Today, the lighthouse is automated and continues to captivate visitors with its imposing silhouette and rich history.

From the summit, prepare to admire an exceptional panorama: to the west, the Atlantic Ocean stretches endlessly, while to the east, the Bay of Arcachon reveals its charms. On a clear day, the Dune du Pilat rises to the horizon.
Looking inland, the pine forest contrasts with the blond beaches of the coastline. Below, oyster huts and harbours line up discreetly. Île aux Oiseaux, with its emblematic cabanes tchanquées, completes the picture.
