Around the Arcachon Basin: The 79-km Grand Loop
This legendary loop connects the 10 towns of the Arcachon Basin, winding through oyster huts, pine forests, and salt marshes. It’s the most beautiful way to tour the Arcachon Basin, from Cap Ferret to the Dune du Pilat. With virtually no elevation gain, it’s accessible to everyone.
A visitor favorite: walking through the Teich Bird Sanctuary, then arriving at the foot of Europe’s tallest dune.

The Vélodyssée from Arès to Arcachon: 42 km along the water
This section of the Vélodyssée, EuroVelo 1, partly follows a shaded former railroad track. You’ll ride past lagoons, reed beds, and oyster-farming villages all the way to Arcachon. The route passes through Andernos, so you’ll reach it in just a few minutes. It’sone of the most beautiful bike paths in the Arcachon Basin.
Visitors’ favorite: the area surrounding the Landes de Gascogne Regional Nature Park and the constant coolness of the pine trees.

From Andernos to Cap Ferret: Cycling Through the Pine Forest
This northern route heads toward the peninsula through the Lège National Forest. You’ll ride among umbrella pines, with occasional views of the Bassin. The route runs alongside the Prés Salés d’Arès and Lège-Cap-Ferret Nature Reserve.
A favorite among visitors: the oyster-farming villages of Claouey, Le Canon, and L’Herbe, nestled along the waterfront.

- Smooth asphalt pavement, 2.5 to 3 meters wide.

The Trail from Andernos to Arès: Heading for the Salt Marshes
This short route connects the two neighboring stations as close as possible to the water. It serves the oyster harbors and the entrance to the Prés Salés Nature Reserve. A new section now leads to the Saint-Brice swimming area.
A visitor favorite: getting up close to the salt marshes and the colorful huts at the port of Arès.

- Very easy, flat, and family-friendly.

From Andernos to Lacanau-Océan: From the Lagoon to the Waves
This getaway takes you from the Bassin to the ocean through the dune forest. You’ll cycle along a continuous, safe trail all the way to the surf beaches of Lacanau. The contrast between the calm waters and the Atlantic waves leaves a lasting impression.
Visitors’ favorite: arriving at the coast of the Côte d’Argent, facing the huge waves, after walking through the pine forest.
